Saft has leveraged its technological expertise to set up a joint venture with the US firm Johnson Controls Inc., a Tier-1 automotive supplier, to address the fast-growing EV and HEV market, particularly capitalising on Li-ion expertise. More information 
ASB group

Specialising in thermal batteries. Saft also has a 50% stake in a joint venture with EADS called ASB. The Group manufactures thermal batteries for tactical missiles and smart weapons and has two subsidiaries, MSB in Scotland and ATB in the United States. ASB is the leading supplier in Europe and created ATB (Advanced Thermal Batteries) in May 20 06 to gain market share in the US with the ASB thermal battery technologies, previously only produced in Europe. ATB has already recorded its initial success.
