Compliance of our products with the REACH Regulation (CE 1907/2006) 

The business of Saft being essentially the design of manufacture of high technology industrial batteries, we would like to inform you that our finished products are classified as “articles” within REACH. 

Therefore, our Registration requirements are essentially limited to substances manufactured in the EU and substances that we import from non EU manufacturers. 

Above and beyond this legal requirement, we must ensure that our suppliers will effectively register those substances which they themselves manufacture within the EU or import into the EU territory; we also need to ensure they implement this same verification process up their supply chain. 

For this purpose, our Group has developed an inventory of substances imported or manufactured by the different legal entities of our Group, and the Group has identified those suppliers that need to be contacted. 

We are in the process of pre-registering those substances we manufacture or import and we are contacting our critical suppliers to ensure they are undergoing the same process. Therefore, we are minimizing the risk of having a substance or a component becoming unavailable due to REACH-related issues.
