Compliance of our products with the Batteries Directive (2006/66/EC)

The batteries Directive 2006/66/EC creates some restrictions for the use of mercury and cadmium in several battery types.

As specified in article 2(2) paragraphs (a) and (b) of said Directive, these restrictions are not applicable to products designed to be sent into space or for specifically military purpose.

As specified in article 4(1)(b), the restrictions placed on cadmium are only applicable to portable batteries and accumulators, that is (according to the definitions of portable batteries) to batteries and accumulators that are sealed and can be hand carried and are not designed exclusively for industrial or professional use.

This restriction is complemented by several exemptions which cover batteries used for emergency and alarm systems, medical equipment and cordless power tools.

The batteries and accumulators manufactured by our Group are all designed to be used exclusively for industrial and professional use; therefore they are not covered by this restriction.
