The Saft LS/LST ranges are cylindrical primary lithium cells, based on the Lithium-Thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2) chemistry. Their key features are is the concentric electrodes ("bobbin") construction that enables maximum loading of active materials and corresponding energy.

The LS/LST cells are designed specifically for long-term (3 to 15 years) applications, featuring a few µA base currents and periodic pulses, typically in the 5-150 mA range.

The ‘C’ cell versions are specially recommended for indoor applications (with temperatures generally lower than +30°C) where they demonstrate an excellent resistance to passivation.
