Saft primary and rechargeable batteries provide compact, lightweight and reliable power in a wide range of medical equipment. They power devices worn by the patient such as drug dispensing pumps for ambulatory medication or respiratory assistance. They also enable data logger and monitoring systems to be truly portable and wireless.

Emergency and rescue services rely on Saft batteries to power life-saving equipment such as portable defibrillators.

Depending on the application, our batteries may power the device, or provide back-up in case of failure of the main power source.

Multi-technology medical battery solutions

Saft offers a full range of multi-technology medical battery solutions. These include nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd), nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) and high-power rechargeable lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, as well as miniature primary lithium batteries that deliver small pulses of power with extreme reliability over many years.

Typical applications include:

  • Portable rescue – external cardiac defibrillators and diagnosis equipment
  • Patient-worn devices – ambulatory medication, monitoring equipment and infusion pumps
  • Respirators and ventilators.
