Emergency and security systems

Emergency lighting and fire and security alarm systems need an emergency source of power for periods of three hours or more. The batteries that provide this power must also be capable of repeating the duty cycle within 12 hours of an emergency discharge finishing.

Batteries in emergency and security systems are often regarded as ‘fit and forget’ equipment and must therefore also be able to survive poor maintenance and still be available to supply emergency power whenever it is needed.
